We are about to enter our 93rd season of continued service at the Dakota Inn. looking for someone who is talented, passionate, and detail oriented to join the Dakota team. It is a kitchen from 1930's so if you've ever wanted to work in a museum this is the place for you. Old School is an understatement, but we are looking for the right person to help take us into the future.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the kitchen team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Oversee all aspects of food production, ensuring adherence to quality standards and presentation.
- Plan and execute menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Manage shift operations, including inventory control, food handling, and sanitation practices.
- Coordinate catering services for events, ensuring timely delivery and exceptional service.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen space, adhering to health regulations.
- Collaborate with management on menu development and pricing strategies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within the culinary industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
- Expertise in food preparation techniques, fine dining standards, and catering services.
- Knowledge of food service management practices, including inventory control and cost management.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with staff, vendors, and customers.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification in food handling or culinary arts is preferred but not required.
