We are a family in Coconut Grove hiring a full-time Housekeeper / Family Assistant to take ownership of the daily running of our home. This is a long-term, live-out position.
This is a housekeeping-first role with childcare support. It is not a nanny job.
THE HOME (about 70-80% of the role)
- Complete family laundry: wash, dry, fold, hang, and put away
- Daily tidying and organization of bedrooms, closets, and common areas
- Kitchen cleanup and keeping the kitchen orderly
- Vacuuming, mopping, and general daily cleaning
- Changing linens, restocking supplies, keeping the home guest-ready
- Cooking simple family dinners 2 to 3 nights per week
We have a separate deep-cleaning service for the heavy work. You own the daily upkeep that keeps the house running well between their visits.
THE FAMILY (about 20-30% of the role)
We have three children. Your time with them is mostly school pickup, driving to activities, snacks, and help with evening routines for the two older kids. Our youngest is a toddler who has his own dedicated caregiver, so his care is covered and is not this role's responsibility. You would lend a hand with him now and then.
SCHEDULE
Tuesday through Friday, 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Saturday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Guaranteed 40 hours every week. Live-out only.
Every morning is yours, and your weekend is Sunday and Monday. Please apply only if Friday evenings and Saturdays work for you consistently.
PAY AND TERMS
$32 to $35 per hour depending on experience, which is $66,560 to $72,800 per year at 40 hours. Legal W-2 payroll with guaranteed hours. Occasional domestic and international travel with our family, all expenses covered, with work and compensable travel time paid according to wage and hour requirements.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Private-home housekeeping or family-assistant experience strongly preferred. Hotel or residential housekeepers looking to move into private family work are welcome.
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Comfortable cooking straightforward family meals
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S., with a valid passport for international travel
- Valid driver's license, clean record, reliable car, comfortable driving children
- CPR and First Aid certified, or willing to certify (we will pay for the course)
- Strong preference for someone within about 30 minutes of Coconut Grove for a reliable long-term commute
The right person notices the laundry, the kitchen, the low supplies, or the disorganized closet, and handles it without being asked.
Start date: Tuesday, September 8. We are looking for someone who stays with us for years.
Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour
