The host’s basic function is to provide the guests, either on the phone or in
person, with information and support in a professional and gracious manner. The
essential hospitality standards must be used at all times: eye contact, smile,
speak first and engage in polite conversation with the guest.
Responsibilities:
Duties are as follows but are not limited to:

Greet and interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner.

Provide fair and consistent seating for guests.

Receive and record reservations by phone or in person.

Maintain a waiting list of guests. It is the greeter’s responsibility to know what tables are available, who is covering each section, and how to seat guests alternately in each section.

Accurately handle the paperwork.

Receive incoming calls.

Check floor and tables for accuracy and cleanliness.

Assist in bussing tables as needed.

Maintain a clean podium. Wipe down menus at the end of each shift and

replace if damaged.

Stock Host/Hostess stand.

Perform other restaurant and customer service-related requests to guests.
Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent.
-
One year of restaurant experience.
-
OpenTable experience is preferred.
-
Good food and service knowledge.
-
Pleasant personality.
-
Excellent communication skills.
