Position Summary: Under the general direction of the Director of Quality Supports, the Quality Supports Specialist will coordinate all aspects of EPIC LI and South Shore Guidance Center’s regulatory and compliance requirements utilizing auditing processes.
The primary function of this role will be to conduct internal OPWDD investigations.
Addition Essential Functions will be:
- Identify potential risk factors for programs, pertaining to operations, health and safety, physical plant, etc.
- Coordinate with Programs to ensure on-going compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations and Agency policies and procedures
- Coordinates and conducts internal compliance reviews and fiscal audits by conducting quarterly site visits
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with all departments and employees
- Remain informed regarding current trends in the field of OPWDD, OMH, OSAS and DOH
- Maintain confidentiality of all related reports or issues
- Maintain detailed spreadsheets and databases on various Quality Management and Corporate Compliance activities
- Ensure all documents for follow up to audit recommendations are obtained
- Represent the agency at off-site meetings and trainings pertaining to Quality Management and Corporate Compliance issues and/or initiatives
- Work independently and within a team on special projects
- Willing to travel to Nassau and Suffolk County
Other Functions:
- Assist with the analysis and development of trends and risk reports for the Quality Supports Director
- Ensure all compliance issues and inquiries are investigated, and appropriate corrective measures are implemented in a timely manner
- Assist with preparation for staff training
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred in related field Certification/ Valid NYS Driver's License
License:
Experience: Preferred 3+ years working knowledge in OPWDD/OMH related field, prior experience in a Compliance/Quality Management setting.
