The 3rd Grade Teacher funded by 31a At-Risk funds provides high-quality instruction and early academic intervention in a smaller class size setting to better support the diverse academic and social-emotional needs of young learners. The teacher will deliver a standards-aligned curriculum with a focus on early literacy, mathematics, and foundational skills, while also supporting at-risk students through differentiated instruction and developmentally appropriate practices.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Education from an accredited college or university Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate Elementary endorsement Highly Qualified by ESSA Standards Current knowledge of Michigan Content Standards High-level communication skills Ability to help create positivity and thrive in a professional environment that is one of mutual respect, teamwork, and accountability Preferred Qualifications: Experience or training in early childhood education and/or developmental kindergarten preferred. Knowledge of research-based instructional strategies for early learners, including phonics, phonemic awareness, number sense, and play-based learning. Demonstrated ability to build relationships with young children, families, and colleagues. Strong classroom management and organization skills.
