Professional and technical work related to the planning and implementation of Palm Beach County strategies for economic, housing, and community development. Participates in the preparation of plans, applications for funding, funding agreements, and performance reports for various federal, state, and local economic, housing, and community development programs, including Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) Program, and HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME). Interprets complex federal, state, and local regulations and policies, and requires the ability to determine and monitor activity compliance within such parameters. Researches and analyzes demographic, social, economic, and housing data, making oral and written interpretative assessments. Work is performed independently on routine matters within the scope of professional methods and procedures; may supervise subordinate personnel. Supervision is received from designated superiors and is reviewed through conferences, reports, and desired results obtained.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified candidates to possess one of the following:

A Bachelor's Degree in Urban/Regional Planning, Sociology, Economics, Public/Business Administration, or related field; minimum of two (2) years of experience in housing or community development programs design or administration,
OR
- A Master’s Degree in Urban/Regional Planning, Sociology, Economics, Public/Business Administration, or related field; minimum of one (1) year of experience in housing or community development programs design or administration,
OR
-
An unrelated Bachelor’s Degree/related Associate’s Degree; minimum of four (4) years of experience in housing or community development programs design or administration,
OR
-
Graduation from high school/equivalent recognized certification; minimum of six (6) years of experience in housing or community development programs design or administration.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include:

Two (2) years of experience in administration or delivery of federal, state, or local economic, housing, or community development funding programs (must specify on application).
