Part-Time Cook / Kitchen Lead (Weekends)
Location: Wholehearted Senior Living at River Park – Fort Worth, TX
Schedule: Part-Time (Saturdays & Sundays)
Position Summary
Wholehearted Senior Living at River Park is seeking a dependable and experienced Part-Time Cook/Kitchen Lead to oversee weekend meal service for our Assisted Living and Memory Care residents. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals, supervising kitchen operations, ensuring food safety compliance, and meeting the dietary needs of residents, including puree diets and other physician-ordered special diets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals according to the facility menu and scheduled meal times.
- Follow all recipes, portion guidelines, and dietary restrictions.
- Prepare modified diets, including puree, mechanical soft, diabetic, low-sodium, and other special diets as ordered.
- Supervise and direct kitchen staff during weekend shifts.
- Ensure all food items are properly labeled, dated, stored, and rotated according to food safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment at all times.
- Monitor food temperatures and complete required kitchen logs.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, infection control standards, and food safety procedures.
- Assist with inventory management and notify management of needed supplies.
- Maintain positive interactions with residents, families, and team members.
- Ensure meals are presented attractively and served with dignity and respect.
Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience required, preferably in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Long-Term Care, or Healthcare settings.
- Knowledge of special diets, including puree and texture-modified diets.
- Experience supervising or leading kitchen staff preferred.
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food storage procedures.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
