The SAP MM / WM Engineer will be responsible for hands-on warehouse management, leveraging strong SAP and WMS expertise with relevant transaction codes to perform detailed inventory data analysis, identify dead stock and long-lead items, and collaborate with the ABB team to reduce overall inventory levels in a service center environment.Key Responsibilities
• Strong SAP MM / WM functional knowledge
• Experience in inventory optimization, warehouse operations, and WMS systems
• Evaluate Excess, Obsolete and Non-moving / slow-moving
• Establish governance for inventory aging, dead stock monitoring, and disposition workflows
• Apply relevant SAP transaction codes, including but not limited to:
Inventory Analysis & Monitoring
Material Movements & Adjustments
Inventory Control & Planning
Obsolescence & Disposal
• Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and validation
Identify root causes for excess inventory buildup: Forecast inaccuracies, Engineering changes (ECN impact), Minimum order quantity (MOQ) constraints, Production planning inefficiencies
Recommend improvements in: Planning parameters (MRP, safety stock), Procurement strategies, Engineering change management processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to handle large datasets (inventory analysis)
• Good understanding of manufacturing/shop floor operations (preferred)
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Production Engineering (or related field).
• 3–5 years of experience in a SAP role (can be adjusted by level).

o Obsolescence & Disposal
Z-reports / custom reports (if applicable) for dead stock tracking
Integration with FI for write-offs and financial impact tracking
Customer’s JD:
- Proficiency in data creation and validation
- Basic understanding of shop floor operations (preferred)
- Ability to conduct meetings with all stakeholders, including Product Engineering, Sales, Product Management, and Production
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / production engineering (or related field).
- 3–5 years of experience in a SAP MM / WM Engineer Warehouse Management role (can be adjusted by level)
- Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma principles is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills; ability to work in cross‑functional teams.
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
