Job Summary

The Cow Palace is hiring ticket sellers/parking staff for its busy parking lot sales during events.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and direct them to parking flaggers.
- Manage transactions (credit card, tap, and occasionally cash) accurately for parking fees using cashiering skills, including cash handling and retail math.
- Assist customers with questions or concerns, providing excellent customer service that leaves a lasting positive impression
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the parking area, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. Sellers may also need to help organize parking flow by placing cones and/or directing traffic
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate parking flow and address any operational issues promptly.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse guests
- Experience in cashiering or retail math to handle cash transactions accurately
- Outstanding customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to stand, walk, and move quickly for extended periods during shifts.
Successful candidates will be able to handle transactions quickly and efficiently, use scanning and payment technology, handle cash transactions, and be friendly and helpful to our guests. The parking staff is the first contact our guests experience and must provide a positive and welcoming impression.
Cow Palace parking employees are members of Teamsters Local Union No. 665. Selected candidates have 30 days to join the union after being hired. Union Dues are paid by the employee monthly and equal 2.5 hours times the current rate of pay. Pay is twice per month and dues are deducted from the month end paycheck.
If the selected employee wishes not to join the Union, they will still be required to have the fee deducted from their pay. The hourly wage is $24 per hour. Employees are guaranteed four hours minimum per shift.

Wage $24.00
Withholding: Union Dues or supplemental for non union - $60 per month
State Retirement Program (PST, Mandatory): 7.5% of total wages. Social Security is NOT withheld.
We have approximately two events per month that require parking staff. Staff are expected to be available for events and must submit their availability three weeks in advance.
