Appliance Testing Cook

We are seeking a cook to assist with the final testing phases of our new 120-volt range by preparing food while a lab tech takes measurements of temperatures and times. You don?t need to be a professional, or have any professional training, you just need to enjoy cooking and be able to follow recipes. All ingredients, recipes and utensils will be provided by us.
Job Type: This is a temporary assignment beginning on September 14,2026. We anticipate the project lasting three to four months. The hours will be Mon ? Fri, 10am-2pm
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare food items and meals on our ranges on a daily basis. The items you cook will be pre-selected by our Engineering team. There will be many repeats of items as we test the range?s capabilities and record data.
- Follow recipes and instructions closely as any variation could interfere with our testing results.
- Will be working closely with our Testing Lab Tech to document all stages of the cooking process
- Keep a log of cooking results, and your opinions on the performance of the range
- Clean appliance and work area after each use, wash and put away all utensils and pots
- Keep refrigerator clean and ensure that all ingredients are fresh and not expired
- Keep workplace neat and organized
- Follow safe food handling protocols
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
- Intermediate to advanced cooking skills. Does not need professional cooking training.
- Ability to read and follow recipes precisely. This is a controlled environment where we want to test each range?s ability. Food item preparation must be done the same way each time
- Familiarity with a testing kitchen a plus ? but not necessary!
- Ability to organize and prioritize work for timely completion
- A critical thinker with strong attention to detail
- Able to take initiative and work interdependently, adjust to shifting priorities, communicate effectively, and work under defined rules and regulations
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Rate of pay: $25 hourly,
