Job Overview
Arch Enterprise, Inc. is seeking experienced Telecommunications Field Service Technicians with proven hands-on experience performing POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) migrations, basic line cutovers, telecommunications troubleshooting, and legacy copper infrastructure support.
This position is intended for technicians who can work independently in the field with little to no supervision. We are specifically seeking technicians who already possess the required telecommunications knowledge and experience, as no training will be provided for this role.
Candidates must be comfortable working with both legacy telecommunications systems and modern business phone environments while performing installations, migrations, troubleshooting, testing, and service restoration activities.
Responsibilities
- Perform POTS line migrations and service conversions.
- Complete basic line cutovers and telecommunications equipment transitions.
- Troubleshoot dial tone, connectivity, and line service issues.
- Test, tone, trace, and locate telephone circuits and copper pairs.
- Identify and work within 66 Blocks and telecommunications demarcation points.
- Perform line testing and verification before and after migrations.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot business telephone systems.
- Document completed work, testing results, and service changes.
- Coordinate with remote support teams and carriers as needed.
- Follow client-specific procedures and project requirements.
Required Experience
Applicants must have verifiable experience performing:
- POTS migrations
- Telecommunications cutovers
- 66 Block troubleshooting and cross-connect work
- Tone and probe line identification
- Dial tone troubleshooting
- Copper pair testing
- RJ11 and RJ45 terminations
- Telecommunications demarcation troubleshooting
- Business phone system installations and support
Preferred Platform Experience
Experience with one or more of the following systems is strongly preferred:
- EPIK
- Cisco
- Avaya
- Yealink
- Meraki
Required Tools
Technicians must supply and maintain their own tools and equipment, including:
- Punch Down Tool
- Butt Set
- Cable Tester
- RJ45/RJ11 Crimpers
- RJ45/RJ11 Scissors
- Rj45/RJ11 Snips
- Allen Wrench Set
- Screwdriver Set
- Standard Telecommunications Hand Tools
Additional telecommunications testing equipment is highly preferred.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of telecommunications field experience.
- Ability to independently perform POTS migrations and cutovers.
- Reliable transportation capable of supporting field service travel.
- Smartphone with internet access for work order communication and documentation.
- Ability to pass client-specific background screening requirements when applicable.
- Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently without training or direct supervision.

Important Notice
This position is intended for experienced telecommunications technicians. Candidates whose experience is limited solely to VoIP phone provisioning, remote phone support, or basic network administration without hands-on copper infrastructure, POTS migration, cutover, and telecommunications troubleshooting experience may not be a fit for this role.
