Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Biller / Collections Representative with a strong background in home health billing, insurance claims, accounts receivable, and collections. This is a flexible part-time, on-site opportunity that offers work-life balance while allowing you to make a meaningful impact every day.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit insurance claims for home health services.
- Verify insurance eligibility and patient benefits.
- Follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and outstanding accounts receivable balances.
- Manage insurance and patient collections.
- Perform payment posting and EOB reconciliation.
- Handle denial management, claim corrections, and appeals.
- Complete eligibility and benefits verification.
- Assist with prior authorizations as needed.
- Maintain accurate billing records and documentation.
- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and internal teams regarding billing matters.
- Support additional finance and administrative tasks as needed.
What We're Looking For
Experience with:
- Home Health billing and collections.
- Insurance claim submission, including Medicare, Medicaid/Medi-Cal, PPO, HMO, and commercial payers.
- Denial management and appeals.
- Accounts receivable (A/R) follow-up.
- Insurance and patient collections.
- Payment posting and EOB reconciliation.
- Eligibility and benefits verification.
- Prior authorizations (as needed).
- EMR/EHR and billing systems such as Kinnser, Waystar, Office Ally, or similar platforms.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, accuracy, and communication skills.
Reporting Structure
Reports directly to the Accounting Manager.
Schedule
Flexible part-time schedule. Choose the option that works best for you:
- Three full days per week, or
- Five days per week, 4 hours per day
This is an on-site position.
Compensation$28.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience.
