Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHH)
Location: Alameda, CA
Schedule: Full-Time
Pay: $90–$105 per hour
We are seeking a dedicated Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHH) to support students in Alameda, California. This full-time opportunity is ideal for an educator who is passionate about helping students who are deaf or hard of hearing access instruction, strengthen communication skills, and achieve their academic and social-emotional goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Develop and implement individualized education program goals.
- Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and classroom activities to meet each student’s needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, related-service providers, interpreters, and families.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
- Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and educational planning.
- Support students with communication, self-advocacy, assistive technology, and classroom access.
- Ensure services comply with district, state, and federal special education requirements.
Qualifications
- Valid California Deaf and Hard of Hearing Credential.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, special education, deaf education, or a related field.
- Knowledge of IEP development and special education procedures.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing is preferred.
- Ability to complete required background checks and onboarding requirements.
