American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Outpatient Wound Care position in Rapid City, SD, requiring wound care certification and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Outpatient Wound Care unit at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital
-
Patient population includes a wide variety of wound types including diabetic foot wounds, vascular wounds, and pressure injuries across inpatient, outpatient, HBO, and ostomy settings
-
Typical patient ratio is approximately 1 patient per hour, depending on case complexity
-
Epic EMR used; candidates without Epic experience may require manager approval
-
Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with no nights, weekends, or major holidays
-
May float between inpatient and outpatient wound care settings
-
13-week contract with 40 hours per week
-
Active RN license in South Dakota or a Compact state (SD license required)

Current BLS certification required
-
Wound care certification required; accepted certifying bodies include ABWM, NAWCO, and WOCNCB
-
Ostomy certification (CWOCN) required for candidates pursuing the Wound/Ostomy role

Minimum of 2 years of wound care experience required

Proficiency in wound VACs, nurse-level debridement, ABIs, and cast cutting
-
Completion of a board-approved nursing education program
-
2 professional references dated within the past year required for consideration
-
DOB and SSN required for consideration

Outpatient team is supported by 2 CNPs, additional RNs, 1 CNA, and a front desk scheduler; inpatient team is all-RN
-
Unit orientation is 1–2 weeks

Navy blue scrubs required

Work environment is described as tight-knit with a family feel and a high degree of autonomy

First-time travelers may be considered if they have prior wound care experience

Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
