Position Summary
Montville Plastics & Rubber is seeking a reliable and motivated Material Handler to join our team. The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods are moved safely and efficiently throughout the facility to support production operations. This role plays a vital part in maintaining workflow, inventory accuracy, and overall plant organization.
Essential Responsibilities
- Supply production areas with raw materials and packaging materials as needed.
- Transport finished goods to designated storage locations.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Perform inventory transactions and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Conduct routine material and inventory counts.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness in warehouse and production storage areas.
- Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and other warehouse duties as needed.
- Report inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, or safety concerns promptly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling experience preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred; certification is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift.
- Basic computer skills and experience with inventory systems are a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Dependable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
