Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented NEMT (Non-Emergency Medical Transportation) Dispatcher to coordinate and manage transportation services for clients requiring non-emergency medical rides. In this vital role, you will serve as the communication hub between passengers, drivers, healthcare providers, and dispatch teams, ensuring timely, safe, and efficient transportation. Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily scheduling of non-emergency medical transportation using advanced transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
- Utilize GPS and GIS tools to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure on-time pickups and drop-offs.
- Communicate effectively with drivers via multi-line phone systems and two-way radios, providing clear instructions and updates throughout each shift.
- Manage data entry related to ride requests, driver assignments, and client information with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain comprehensive records of dispatch activities, including shift logs, incident reports, and service documentation in compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, clients, and third-party logistics (3PL) partners to coordinate schedules and resolve scheduling conflicts promptly.
- Monitor fleet management systems such as AS400 and Freight platforms to track vehicle maintenance status and availability for dispatching needs.
Experience
- Proven experience in transportation dispatching or logistics coordination within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), GPS tracking technology, and supply chain logistics.
- Knowledge of transportation planning principles, fleet management practices, and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette and the ability to handle multiple calls efficiently.
- Demonstrated analysis skills for route optimization, problem resolution, and data interpretation.
- Proficiency in data entry tasks using systems like Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine.
- Prior experience working with freight or 3PL providers is a plus; familiarity with AS400 or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is desirable.
