We are seeking a Product Engineer – Engine System Cooling to join an automotive engineering team responsible for the design, development, validation, and release of engine cooling system components. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working across the full product development lifecycle, collaborating with suppliers, and supporting innovative vehicle programs from concept through production.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, validate, and release engine cooling system components.
- Manage cooling components through all phases of vehicle development.
- Lead early packaging and component development to meet cooling system performance objectives.
- Coordinate engineering activities including CAE analysis, design, prototyping, testing, and documentation.
- Develop and maintain Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Validation Plans & Reports (DVP&R).
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure manufacturable designs and monitor progress toward program milestones.
- Support prototype builds, vehicle assembly, and validation testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues identified during development and testing.
- Investigate and address quality concerns and identify cost reduction opportunities following product launch.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, validation, purchasing, and suppliers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience in automotive product engineering or component development.
- Knowledge of engine cooling systems or thermal management components is preferred.
- Familiarity with components such as radiators, condensers, cooling fans, oil coolers, coolant hoses, pumps, valves, or related systems.
- Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, and engineering validation processes.
- Understanding of CAE-supported product development.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple engineering activities in a fast-paced product development environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Automotive OEM or supplier experience.
- Experience supporting vehicle launches and production programs.
- Knowledge of APQP, GD&T, or automotive quality processes is a plus.
