The Town of Palm Beach is seeking enthusiastic and service-oriented Golf Course Associates to support the day-to-day fast-paced outside and inside operations at the golf course. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic, outdoor-friendly environment and take pride in delivering exceptional experiences to golfers and visitors alike. As part of a respected municipal golf operation in one of Florida's most prestigious communities, you will represent the Town of Palm Beach with professionalism and a commitment to excellence. Golf Course Associates are responsible for a wide range of duties, including greeting golfers as they arrive, organizing play on the golf course, managing the driving range, and working in the golf pro-shop as a check-in clerk. Work is performed under the supervision of the Golf Course Manager, ensuring you have the support and guidance needed to succeed in this role. Whether you're assisting a first-time golfer or a seasoned player, your ability to provide friendly, knowledgeable service will be central to your success. This position is well-suited for individuals with a passion for golf, customer service, or recreation management who are looking to build experience in a professional golf course environment. A 10-panel drug test is required as part of the hiring process. Flexible scheduling may be available, making this an excellent opportunity for those seeking part-time or supplemental work in a beautiful outdoor setting.
A typical day as a Golf Course Associate begins with preparing the course and facilities for incoming golfers — staging carts with scorecards and pencils, cleaning and organizing equipment, and ensuring the pro-shop is ready for business. As players arrive, you'll greet them warmly, assist with golf bags at the bag drop, check them in using the computerized point-of-sale (POS) system, and collect appropriate fees. Throughout the day, you'll ranger the golf course to ensure proper play, pick up litter, empty trash containers, and provide course information to guests about events, programs, and current conditions. When not on the course, you may be booking tee times and lessons over the phone or in person, registering players for clinics, or performing light maintenance on riding and pull carts. The day wraps up with reconciling the cash register, completing back deposits in accordance with department cash handling procedures, and ensuring the clubhouse and surrounding grounds are left clean and orderly. No two days are exactly the same — the fast-paced, people-centered environment keeps the work engaging and rewarding.
