Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Shift: Rotating (Days/Nights)
Schedule: 36 hours/week (3x12s)
Weekly Pay: $2,840 Gross
- $44.28/hr (Regular)
- $66.42/hr (OT)
- $1,246 Weekly Per Diem
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Travel RN for a 13-week assignment in Pierre, SD. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative LDRP environment while providing high-quality care to mothers and newborns.
Requirements
- Active RN License (SD or Compact)
- Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience
- BLS (AHA) required (additional certifications may be required)
- Previous travel experience preferred
Facility & Unit Details
- Unit Type: Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP)
- Bed Count: 9 Postpartum | 3 L&D
- EMR: Meditech
- NICU Level: II
- Patient Population: Infant, Adult
- Ratios: Based on patient acuity (PP vs. Labor patients)
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other required
- Call: Required
- Floating: Required to other nursing units
Clinical Experience Required
- Labor patients & couplet care
- High-risk & low-risk antepartum and labor/delivery
- GYN patients and occasional Med/Surg overflow
- Experience with Level II NICU (attending deliveries & high-risk deliveries)
Skills & Procedures
- Epidurals, circumcisions, and occasional lumbar punctures
- Blood product administration & rapid transfusions
- CPAP/BiPAP support
- IV titration: Insulin, Magnesium Sulfate
- Drips: Heparin
- Equipment: Epidural pumps, PCA pumps, feeding tubes, syringe pumps, drains
Additional Details
- Facility provides full LDRP care model
- Manages Level II NICU infants (34+ weeks gestation)
- Mix of inpatient (70%) and outpatient/ambulatory care (20–25%)
