About the position
Nikolaides Insurance Agency is seeking a dependable, customer-focused professional to join our team in Warren, Ohio.
This full-time position supports existing policyholders, helps new customers find appropriate coverage, and assists with
the day-to-day operations of a local independent insurance agency.
An active Ohio Property & Casualty insurance license is preferred. We are also open to candidates with strong customer
service or insurance experience who are willing to become licensed.
Compensation
$19.25-$31.25 per hour, approximately $40,000-$65,000 annually based on a 40-hour workweek. Starting pay depends
on insurance experience, licensing, sales ability, carrier knowledge, and the level of responsibility the candidate is
prepared to take on.
Schedule and work location
This is primarily an in-office position at our Warren, Ohio agency. Agency operating hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00
a.m.-5:30 p.m. ET, and Saturday, 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. ET.
Employees will generally be scheduled for approximately 40 hours per week. Saturday hours will be shared or rotated,
with corresponding flexibility during the week.
We are open to discussing a hybrid schedule after training for an experienced, self-directed candidate. Hybrid availability
depends on office coverage, performance, customer needs, and position responsibilities. At least one qualified team
member must remain in the office during operating hours.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers by phone, email, text, and in person.
- Provide friendly, accurate, and timely customer service.
- Prepare quotes for auto, home, renters, motorcycle, recreational vehicle, and other personal insurance products.
- Explain coverage options, deductibles, limits, discounts, and payment requirements.
- Process policy changes, renewals, cancellations, reinstatements, and documentation.
- Review existing policies and identify coverage gaps or additional customer needs.
- Help new customers complete applications and obtain appropriate coverage.
- Communicate with carriers regarding underwriting, billing, policy changes, and customer questions.
- Collect and document customer information accurately and process payments according to agency procedures.
- Follow up on leads, pending quotes, renewals, missing documents, and outstanding customer requests.
- Maintain accurate policy records and follow carrier requirements, agency procedures, and Ohio insurance regulations.
- Support general office operations and work collaboratively with the agency team.

Preferred qualifications
- Active Ohio Property & Casualty insurance license.
- Previous personal lines experience, particularly auto and homeowners coverage.
- Experience in an independent insurance agency or working with multiple carriers.
- Familiarity with insurance quoting systems or agency management software.
- Strong customer service, sales, communication, and follow-up skills.
- Comfort discussing payments, coverage options, and sensitive customer information.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to manage multiple customer requests and prioritize time-sensitive work.
- Dependable, professional, and comfortable working independently when necessary.
- Comfort using computers, email, online carrier portals, and standard office software.
Candidates without an insurance license
We may consider candidates who are not currently licensed if they have strong customer service, office, banking, sales,
or insurance-related experience and are willing to obtain an Ohio Property & Casualty license within an agreed-upon
period. Responsibilities will be limited appropriately until licensing requirements are completed.
