Join our vibrant floral shop team as a Floral Trainee / Shop Assistant and immerse yourself in the beautiful world of flowers, weddings, events and more! This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in floral design, retail sales, and customer service while working in a lively, supportive environment. No prior experience is necessary—just a positive attitude and a desire to learn!
Duties
- Assist customers with selecting flowers providing friendly and knowledgeable service
- Support floral arrangement and design tasks under supervision, learning various techniques and styles
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shop floor, shelves, and display areas to ensure an inviting shopping environment
- Stock fresh flowers, and merchandise, ensuring accurate inventory levels through stock rotation and replenishment
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems for transactions including cash handling, credit card processing, and receipts
- Help with merchandising by creating attractive displays that highlight seasonal products and promotions
Requirements
- Strong communication skills with the ability to assist diverse customers effectively in English; multilingual abilities are a bonus
- Excellent organizational skills to manage stock levels and keep the shop tidy
- Basic retail math skills for handling transactions accurately
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting 25lbs.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and cashiering is advantageous
- Enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude eager to learn new skills in floral artistry and retail operations
