Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Ship Repair Structural Supervisor to lead and oversee structural repair operations on maritime vessels. This role involves managing a team of skilled technicians and ensuring that all structural repairs meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive construction management expertise, strong supervisory skills, and a comprehensive understanding of shipbuilding and repair processes. This position plays a vital role in maintaining vessel integrity through precise planning, coordination, and execution of complex structural projects.
Key Reponsabilities
· Supervise and lead ship repair crews performing structural repairs, steel renewals, aluminum repairs, fabrication, and installation work on Navy ships and submarines.
· Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily structural work packages to support ship maintenance and modernization programs.
· Review blueprints, technical drawings, work specifications, NAVSEA Standard Items, and engineering sketches to ensure accurate project execution.
· Monitor workforce productivity, quality, safety, and schedule adherence.
· Conduct inspections of structural repairs to verify compliance with military specifications, shipyard procedures, and quality assurance requirements.
· Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Production Control, Quality Assurance, and Navy representatives regarding repair progress and technical issues.
· Ensure all personnel adhere to OSHA, NAVSEA, and shipyard safety regulations, including confined space entry, hot work, and lockout/tagout procedures.
· Manage material requirements, equipment utilization, and manpower allocation to maximize efficiency.
· Identify and resolve technical and production challenges that may impact project completion.
· Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to welders, shipfitters, structural mechanics, and apprentices.
· Maintain accurate production reports, progress updates, work documentation, and completion records.
· Support regulatory inspections, audits, and customer walkthroughs.
