This would be a long term sub position.
The person in this position will work under the supervision of the district’s special programs director and the building principal and is responsible for teaching students in the Structured Learning Center. This person will be responsible for providing, designing and adapting instructional programs for the special educational needs of identified students in a variety of settings, as well as case management of student files. This individual must work cooperatively with other members of the staff to provide students with a well-planned, organized instructional program utilizing data and evidence-based practices. This person is also responsible for directing and training Instructional Assistants.
Qualifications Required

Current Oregon Subitute License
-
Experience with meeting the specialized needs of students with a range of moderate to severe disabilities;

Ability to provide appropriate instruction to students based on diagnosed needs;
-
Skills in using data to make instructional decisions;
-
Demonstrated behavior management techniques (PBIS);
-
Proficient in developing and implementing effective behavior intervention plans;
-
Knowledge of facilitated communication strategies;
-
Experience with assistive technology;
-
Understand and adhere to special education law requirements;
-
Ability to effectively manage time and workload to cover testing, placement, teaching, conferencing, and file management;
-
Ability to implement, and follow up on IEPs for specific students in need of specialized instruction.

Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively and collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, administrators, students, parents, and patrons;

Ability to convey to parents and teachers the students’ learning abilities and needs;

Ability to provide direction and training to instructional assistants who are assigned to assist with student instruction
Qualifications Desired

Possession of or ability to obtain a current First Aid/CPR card.
