About the Role
Spices Inc. is a commercial seasoning and spice manufacturer serving wholesale, retail, and custom-blend customers from our 16,000 sq. ft. production facility. We move fast, we take quality seriously, and we take care of our team.
We're looking for a Blending & Receiving Associate who is physically strong, detail-oriented, and ready to be an essential part of our production operation. This is a hands-on, active position — if you thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in doing things right, we want to hear from you.
Physical Requirements — Please Read Carefully Before Applying
This role involves consistent, demanding physical activity throughout every shift. We want to be upfront so you can make the right decision for yourself:
▶ Lift and carry 50+ lbs frequently throughout the shift
▶ Lift overhead periodically to load the rotary blender — full upper-body strength required
▶ Stand for up to 8 hours on a production floor
▶ Operate powered equipment, including walkie stackers and pallet jacks
What You'll Do
- Receive and inspect incoming raw material shipments — confirm quantities, check for damage, and put away product using a walkie stacker and pallet jack
- Accurately follow blend recipes to weigh, measure, and mix seasoning and spice batches using our rotary blender and other blending equipment
- Maintain organized, accurate lot tracking throughout blending and receiving — labeling boxes correctly (e.g., Box 5 of 15) for full traceability
- Document blend activity, lot numbers, and batch records using computer or tablet systems
- Follow SSOPs for equipment sanitation and allergen changeovers between runs
- Work at a fast pace while maintaining strict attention to detail and accuracy
- Collaborate with the production team and communicate any quality or safety concerns to your supervisor immediately
- Over time, cross-train across other production floor stations
What We're Looking For
- Physically strong and able to perform sustained lifting and overhead loading
- Highly organized — you track details, label things correctly, and don't let things slip
- Comfortable with fast-paced work and shifting priorities
- Sharp attention to detail — accuracy in blending and receiving is critical to food safety and customer satisfaction
- Experience operating walkie stackers, pallet jacks, or similar powered equipment a plus
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet for documentation
- Prior experience in food manufacturing, warehouse, or production preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
Work Environment
Our production floor is an active, sensory environment. You should be comfortable with:
- Strong spice aromas and airborne spice particles (PPE provided)
- Potential exposure to allergens, including nuts
- Moderate to loud noise levels
- Sustained physical activity every shift
Benefits
We offer a competitive package that kicks in after 90 days:
- Health, dental, and AFLAC supplemental insurance

- 8 paid holidays — including Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, and more
- Paid bereavement and jury duty leave
- Paid maternity/paternity leave after one year of service
- Weekly pay via direct deposit
- 50% employee discount on products — plus free samples
