Responsibilities
- Assist with bathing, drying, brushing, and grooming dogs of various breeds and sizes under supervision
- Learn proper animal handling techniques to ensure safety and comfort for pets during grooming procedures
- Support senior groomers with maintaining cleanliness and organization of grooming stations and equipment
- Help with basic pet care tasks such as nail trimming, ear cleaning, and coat brushing as part of training
- Handle pet restraint safely and humanely to facilitate grooming activities
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets’ needs and grooming preferences
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance your skills in dog training, animal handling, and veterinary-related procedures
Skills
- Passion for animals with a genuine interest in pet grooming and care
- Strong animal handling skills with an understanding of proper restraint techniques
- Excellent customer service abilities to engage positively with pet owners
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting when necessary for bathing tubs or grooming equipment
- Basic knowledge or willingness to learn about dog training, veterinary procedures, or animal behavior
- Experience in pet sitting, kennel work, or veterinary assistant roles is a plus but not required
- Reliable team player with strong communication skills and attention to detail
