Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Volunteer to join our team in Covington County. This volunteer opportunity supports our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model by engaging youth in meaningful community service, behavioral health awareness, outreach initiatives, and program support activities. In this role, youth volunteers will gain valuable experience while helping promote wellness, community engagement, and access to behavioral health resources for the individuals and families we serve.
Qualifications:

Must be a youth currently enrolled in middle school, high school, or participating in an approved educational program

Interest in helping others, community service, mental health awareness, behavioral health, or wellness initiatives

Willingness to learn, participate, and follow direction from staff and program leaders

Ability to communicate respectfully with peers, staff, and community members

Dependable and able to commit to scheduled volunteer hours as agreed upon

Comfortable working as part of a team in a positive, supportive environment

Ability to follow confidentiality expectations, safety guidelines, and basic organizational policies

Demonstrates a positive attitude, curiosity, professionalism, and openness to new experiences

Parental/guardian consent required for participants under 18

Previous volunteer, school club, extracurricular, or leadership experience preferred

Interest in mental health, healthcare, social services, education, communications, or advocacy preferred
Responsibilities:
-
Assist with community outreach, wellness promotion, and behavioral health awareness activities within the CCBHC care model
-
Support community and facility beautification projects that promote welcoming, therapeutic environments
-
Assist with administrative tasks including organizing, filing, scanning, assembling materials, and preparing program resources

Help prepare outreach bags, educational packets, resource kits, and promotional materials for community distribution

Support setup and breakdown for events, trainings, health fairs, and community engagement activities

Assist with social media content support, outreach promotion, and community awareness efforts under staff supervision

Print, organize, and distribute educational, prevention, and promotional resources

Support simple data tracking, reporting, dashboards, or volunteer activity documentation as directed

Assist with newsletter preparation, internal communications, and website/promotional content organization

Provide general support for staff initiatives, special projects, and community-based programming

Perform additional volunteer duties as assigned to support agency programs and outreach efforts
