American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of IR experience to support Neuro and Body IR procedures at a Level 1 Trauma and Stroke Center.

Interventional Radiology department within an academic Level 1 Trauma and Stroke Center
-
Patient population includes adults, geriatrics, and pediatrics across all acuity levels, both inpatient and outpatient

Department is equipped with 2 biplane rooms, 2 single plane rooms, a dedicated ultrasound room, and a CT procedure room

Procedures include Y90, TIPs, chemo embolization, UFE, PAE, trauma, stroke intervention, carotid stenting, drains, biopsies, LPs, kyphoplasty, lines, ports, filters, peripheral stents, AV fistula declot/stenting, and PE/DVT interventions

Equipment includes Siemens fluoroscopy units and Philips ultrasound

EMR is Cerner PowerChart; Cerner experience is preferred but not required

McKesson PACS system in use

4x10 hour day shifts, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
-
Call requirement is 1–2 days per week and 1 weekend per month; two techs are on call per shift (primary and secondary)

Holiday coverage is required for at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract

Minimum of 2 years of overall experience, with at least 1 year in Interventional Radiology

Proficiency supporting Neuro and Body IR procedures using single plane and biplane radiography units
-
Experience with fluoroscopy and ultrasound-guided procedures
-
Active MO or Compact license required at time of consideration — license required if applicable

Two professional references required

Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs

Must be able to take call, work assigned weekends, and work during inclement weather

First-time travelers are accepted for this position

Candidates living within 75 miles of the facility are eligible but may be considered at a reduced pay rate

Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront, as it cannot be approved after the fact
-
Staffed by 5 Body IR physicians and 3 Neurointerventional physicians, with up to 9 IR techs when fully staffed
-
This is a highly active role requiring frequent ambulation, reaching, and physical patient care

Regular exposure to patients with contagious illnesses is expected in this clinical environment
