Project Executive - Design/Build Construction
The Project Executive oversees all critical aspects of the design-build process across multiple projects for a construction firm specializing in complex industrial and cold storage developments. This role leads operational execution, pre-construction, and client-facing efforts while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Execution

Manage full project lifecycle, including budgets, forecasting, cost control, change management, and P&L accountability

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules

Oversee contract development and execution (prime contracts, subcontracts, scopes, insurance, bonds)

Build, lead, and mentor high-performing project teams, including Project Managers and support staff

Direct trade partner coordination and maintain strong relationships

Monitor project performance across cost, schedule, safety, quality, and client satisfaction

Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and company standards

Utilize construction software tools (Excel, ERP systems, scheduling, estimating, BIM)
Pre-Construction

Lead pre-construction efforts from client handoff through project kickoff

Coordinate design and estimating teams, establishing timelines and milestones

Guide design development and ensure alignment with project goals

Validate estimates using subcontractor input, historical data, and internal takeoffs

Maintain regular communication with stakeholders from plant-level to executive leadership
Sales & Client Engagement

Represent the company's capabilities in delivery methods, technical expertise, and project execution

Support business development through proposals, presentations, and RFP responses

Participate in client meetings and industry events to build relationships and generate opportunities
Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 10+ years in construction
-
5+ years of full P&L responsibility across multiple projects
-
5+ years managing design-build or hard bid construction projects
-
Strong background in both pre-construction and construction management

Experience with multiple contract types (lump sum, GMP, cost-plus, fee-based)

Proven ability to improve project profitability and deliver aggressive schedules

Deep understanding of engineering, design, and construction cost structures

Experience with industrial and/or cold storage construction projects preferred
