Duties
- Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and food hygiene in all food preparation areas
- Source fresh ingredients and manage inventory to ensure quality and freshness of all sushi components
- Develop innovative sushi recipes and presentation styles to keep the menu exciting and appealing
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate service flow and ensure timely delivery of dishes
- Educate team members on proper sushi techniques, presentation, and safety protocols
- Uphold consistent quality standards while adhering to health regulations and company policies
Experience
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role specializing in Japanese cuisine
- Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and ingredient handling
- Experience with curriculum development or training new staff is a plus
- Familiarity with classroom management or teaching culinary skills enhances team leadership capabilities
- Background in culinary arts, including cooking techniques, food safety, and presentation skills
- Previous work with children or in educational settings related to food or cooking is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to manage a busy kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail
