Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood sampling using aseptic techniques to ensure specimen integrity
- Collect, label, and process laboratory specimens accurately following established protocols
- Obtain vital signs and assess patient condition to ensure safety during procedures
- Maintain strict adherence to laboratory procedures, safety standards, and infection control practices
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, provide reassurance, and ensure comfort
- Prepare specimens for transport or analysis, including proper documentation and handling
- Support laboratory staff by assisting with specimen processing and data entry as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or clinical laboratory settings
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and blood sampling methods
- Hands-on experience with venipuncture (blood draws), specimen collection, and processing techniques
- Familiarity with hospital environments or healthcare facilities is highly desirable
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically
- Knowledge of aseptic technique to prevent contamination or infection during procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Certification or training in phlebotomy is preferred; relevant laboratory or clinical experience is a plus
Pay: $22.77 - $27.83 per hour
