About the Role
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Junior Metallurgist to join our manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for a graduate with some experience who is passionate about metals, materials performance, and process improvement within an industrial manufacturing environment.
You will work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to support metallurgical processes, improve product quality, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day metallurgical aspects of manufacturing operations
- Assist with materials testing, failure analysis, and root cause investigations
- Monitor and analyse production and quality data to identify trends and process improvements
- Support heat treatment, casting, forming, welding, or finishing processes (as applicable)
- Assist with process trials, product development, and qualification activities
- Contribute to quality assurance, specifications, and standards compliance
- Prepare technical reports, work instructions, and process documentation
- Promote and adhere to all safety, quality, and environmental requirements
About You
- Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong interest in manufacturing, materials performance, and industrial processes
- Analytical mindset with good problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret technical data and laboratory results
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel skills highly regarded)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Desirable (but not essential)
- Exposure to manufacturing environments
- Basic understanding of:
- Heat treatment and phase transformations
- Mechanical testing and metallography
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement tools
- Familiarity with quality systems (ISO 9001 or similar)

Pay: $53,760.32 - $64,743.61 per year
