American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) position at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 1.5 years of ICU experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

Medical ICU (MICU) at a large, 1,266-bed short-term acute care Magnet and Level I Trauma teaching hospital

Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)

Option to sign for 36 or 48 hours per week

Charting via Epic

Required to work every other weekend

No on-call requirements

Floating within scope is required to MS areas within the ICU service line

Procedures include pressor support, ETT, trachs, feeding tubes, chest tubes, wound care, sterile technique for line insertion, paracentesis, bedside trach placement, bronchoscopy, and phlebotomy

Preferred experience includes CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheter, inhaled and IV Flolan, CVVHD, proning, and MTP Level 1 Rapid Transfuser

Active MO RN license or compact RN license required; pending IL license may be accepted (please note at time of consideration)

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 1.5 years of ICU experience required; 1.5 years of MICU experience preferred

Candidates with fewer than 2 years of experience must have Level I Trauma Center experience

Experience in a 20+ bed ICU required

EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia management required; must pass a Relias EKG exam
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

No block scheduling available

RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation

Travelers may remain at this health system for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required

Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler

Parking passes are available for purchase at various monthly rates depending on the lot; parking is free for straight night shift workers
