Position Summary
We're looking for a warm, organized, and detail-oriented Host/Hostess to greet guests, manage seating and wait times, and keep the front of the house running smoothly. This role requires excellent people skills, composure under pressure, and the ability to multitask during busy periods.
Key Responsibilities

Greet every guest promptly and warmly upon arrival, creating a great first impression

Manage the waitlist and seating chart to balance server sections and maintain efficient table turns

Accurately quote wait times and communicate updates to waiting guests

Answer the phone professionally, take reservations, and respond to guest inquiries

Escort guests to their table, present menus, and communicate any relevant specials or notes to the serving team

Coordinate with servers, bussers, and management to ensure tables are cleaned and reset promptly for the next party

Monitor the dining room flow and proactively flag any seating or service issues to management

Maintain a clean, organized host stand and entrance area

Handle guest concerns or special requests (large parties, accessibility needs, allergies) and relay them to the appropriate team member

Assist with to-go orders, phone orders, or online order pickup as needed

Say goodbye to departing guests and thank them for visiting
Qualifications

No prior experience required; customer service or hospitality experience a plus

Friendly, outgoing personality with strong verbal communication skills

Ability to stay calm, organized, and professional during high-volume, fast-paced periods

Strong multitasking and problem-solving skills

Basic computer/POS or reservation-system skills (or willingness to learn)

Team-oriented attitude and reliability

Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8+ hours)

Ability to move quickly through a crowded dining room and entrance area

Occasional lifting of menus, high chairs, or small equipment (up to 20 lbs)

Comfortable working near a busy entrance with frequent guest interaction and noise
