Transportation Engineer– Roanoke, VA
Mattern & Craig, is looking a motivated and detail oriented individual for a Transportation Engineer position in the Roanoke, VA office. The position focuses on the design and management of VDOT and municipal roadway projects. Experience with VDOT projects is highly preferred but we will also consider candidates with comparable DOT project experience in other states.
The successful candidate will be assigned multiple transportation design projects and related tasks; maintain project schedules and budgets; assist with development of technical proposals and presentations; coordinate with VDOT and municipality staff, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies; and collaborate closely with design team members. The pay range for this position is $34-$40.
Minimum Requirements:
- VA Registered PE or ability to obtain licensure in VA within 6 months
- BS degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
- Strong technical, written, and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in roadway design using Microstation/OpenRoads Designer (ORD)
- 5+ years experience in transportation and highway engineering design
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with VDOT and VA municipalities is highly desired
