Job description:
Assists with the set up and operation of machinery and equipment for the purpose of molding finished goods for AIK customers. Sets molds and troubleshoots process issues. Looks for ways to improve quality and output.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Sets up of molds, molding equipment, and secondary equipment
Sets up process conditions from master sheet
Performs mold start ups
Checks press alarms and restarts, makes analysis of issues
Turns in first shots to quality for start up
6. Leads the evaluation and investigations of various types of issues which result from daily activity, such as quality issues, safety issues, etc.
7. Perform troubleshooting activities and developing countermeasures.
8. Provides leadership and guidance to maintain good 5S of the workplace and ensures appropriate safety conditions are maintained.
9. Trains other associates on necessary production skills.
10. Participates / Leads annual and on-going projects.
11. Conducts some machine maintenance and supports maintenance with their activities also
12. Handles robot adjustments for variation if needed
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Attends meetings and prepares reports as necessary and promotes improvement plans and ideas for improvement.
2. Performs other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (Skills, Abilities, Training/Education, and Experience)
Basic math skills
5+ years of injection mold processing
Experience operating cranes and setting molds
Has a strong mechanical aptitude
Has experience with Robotics and adjusting positions
Has understanding and experience with industrial electronics and controls
Basic understanding of automotive quality expectations and TS16949
Experience with hand tools (wrenches, ratchets, screwdrivers, drills, etc.)
High school diploma
Strong working knowledge of molds and their components
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
50% standing, 50% walking for 8 – 12 hours per day
lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs., reaching, handling, and seeing
Ability to operate a crane to change molds
POSITION CONTACTS:
Internal contacts may include members of management and associates at all levels from various departments. External contacts may include contractors and KDJP associates.
SUPERVISORY Responsibilities:
Supervises operators in an assigned area on an assigned shift (2nd Shift).
