Description:
Skilled and experienced Sheet Metal Mechanics fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and structures. The ideal candidate will have over five years of hands-on experience working with sheet metal materials, a strong understanding of fabrication techniques, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities

Fabrication & Assembly: Measure, cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal parts and products using hand tools, power tools, and specialized machinery.

Installation: Install HVAC duct systems, roofing, siding, or other sheet metal components in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.

Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to ensure precise fabrication and installation.

Quality Control: Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with specifications, tolerances, and company quality standards.

Welding & Joining: Perform MIG/TIG welding, riveting, soldering, and other metal-joining processes as needed.

Maintenance & Repair: Diagnose issues, repair damaged components, and perform preventive maintenance on sheet metal systems.

Safety & Compliance: Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures; maintain a clean and organized work area.

Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other trades to complete projects efficiently and accurately.
Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Sheet Metal Mechanic or in a similar trade.

High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.

Proficient in sheet metal fabrication, layout, and installation

Strong understanding of HVAC systems

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings

Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and stand for extended periods.

Licenses/Certifications: OSHA safety training, welding certifications, or HVAC credentials a plus.
