Ministerial Summary:
The Basketball Program Director & Athletic Operations/Business Development serves athletics leadership as the lead voice in managing, coordinating, and overseeing the operations of all athletic events and facilities. This employee will work as a liaison between Athletics and Facilities to ensure there are no scheduling/calendar conflicts, that there is proper supervision at events, and to maximize revenue from facility rentals, summer camps, and ticket sales.
Principal Accountabilities:

Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school

Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church

Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese

Abides by the Confidentiality Policy set forth in the Diocese Employee Handbook

Serve as head coach for an athletics program
-
Provide regular feedback on programs to Director of Student Life and Athletics (DSLA) and Principal
-
Collaborate generously with other Associate Athletic Directors, administrative staff, and DSLA in maintaining a vibrant, positive, mission-driven department
-
Work closely with administrative support staff and DSLA to ensure compliance with TAPPS guidelines

Assist DSLA in generating revenue through full organization, coordination, communication, and execution of Athletics summer camps
-
Provide locker room supervision in the mornings and afternoons as needed
-
Assist department in supervising lunch periods

Manage the athletic calendar in Brightly
-
Serve as point person for game day operations for weekly athletic events, including Home Town Ticketing and Arbiter Pay

Serve as administrator-on-duty for select contests (in collaboration with other athletics leadership)

Assist in managing athletic facility rentals and communication of specific details with Athletic and Facilities Departments

Assist in the setup and tear down of all on campus athletic contests

Assist coaches in securing transportation and lodging for all out of town games

Coordinate campus Summer High School Camps, Summer Youth Camps and Vikathon

Work with the athletic department on Fall, Winter, and Spring Media Day facility needs

Responsible for all other duties, projects, tasks, committees, etc. as assigned

Non-Traditional Workday. Many hours are required in evenings and weekends to properly complete essential duties and responsibilities.

This position also works in a professional office environment but is subject to stress due to the evolving and quickly expanding needs of the Diocese, tight deadlines and moderate workloads.

Travel Requirements:

Semi-frequent travel by car or school vehicle, may be required to Diocese Parishes and/or schools
Education and Experience Preferred:
-
Undergraduate degree in Operations, Business, Sports Management, or Sports Administration
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience in athletics management
-
Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills

Thorough understanding of UIL and TAPPS rules
-
Practicing Catholic with the ability to understand, appreciate, and communicate the value of a Catholic education
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:

Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church

Knowledge of adolescent physical development and sport skills and regulations

Expertise, knowledge, and competency in fundamentals of the sport
