Responsibilities
- Coordinate vehicle dispatching and freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and Vehicle Dispatch Software.
- Manage inbound and outbound shipping & receiving operations, ensuring timely delivery while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Utilize GPS and GIS tools for route planning, analysis, and optimization to improve road transportation operations.
- Maintain accurate data entry within logistics platforms like SyteLine and AS400, ensuring all shipment details are current and precise.
- Communicate effectively via multi-line phone systems, handling customer inquiries with professionalism and courtesy while managing internal communication channels.
- Oversee fleet management activities including vehicle dispatching, tracking via GPS, and adherence to DOT standards.
- Support logistics functions by analyzing transportation data, preparing reports, and assisting with supply chain coordination to enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide exceptional customer service through clear phone etiquette, timely updates, and proactive problem-solving related to freight or shipping issues.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with transportation planning, road transportation operations, or logistics management.
- Strong familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or Vehicle Dispatch Software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and analysis purposes.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to freight shipping and vehicle dispatching.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently across multiple platforms like SyteLine and AS400.
- Effective communication skills for internal coordination and customer interactions via phone calls or digital messaging.
- Ability to perform data entry accurately while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Experience with fleet management software or vehicle dispatching tools is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated analysis skills for route optimization and logistics problem-solving.
