Associate Medical Director – Behavioral Health (Hybrid)

Job Summary
Lead and expand an integrated behavioral health program supporting homebound patients, assisted living residents, individuals with dementia, and patients with complex psychiatric and medical conditions. Provide clinical leadership, mentor behavioral health providers, and deliver high-quality patient care while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead behavioral health services across home-based and facility-based care.
- Develop evidence-based care models, clinical protocols, and treatment pathways.
- Supervise and mentor Behavioral Health NPs and interdisciplinary clinicians.
- Build and scale programs for depression, anxiety, dementia-related behaviors, serious mental illness, and substance use disorders.
- Support Behavioral Health Integration, Collaborative Care Model (CoCM), and telepsychiatry initiatives.
- Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment through telehealth, home visits, and facility care.
- Collaborate with primary care providers, care managers, social workers, and caregivers to improve patient outcomes.
- Ensure quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous program improvement.
Qualifications
Required:
- MD/DO with Board Certification in Psychiatry.
- Active medical license (or eligibility for licensure).
- Experience treating complex adult psychiatric populations.
- Clinical supervision experience with NPs/PAs or behavioral health providers.
- Knowledge of behavioral health documentation, billing, and compliance.
- Strong interest in integrated behavioral health and primary care.
Preferred:
- Geriatric or long-term care psychiatry experience.
- Experience with CoCM, Behavioral Health Integration, telehealth, or home-based care.
- Leadership, program development, and value-based care experience.
