Lead Preschool Teacher
Kidstretch, a state-licensed preschool operated by Homestretch, seeks a full-time Lead Preschool Teacher to co-teach children ages 2 ½ –5 in a play-based Virginia Preschool Initiative (VPI) classroom. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, builds strong relationships with children and families, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Co-teach in a low teacher-to-student ratio classroom
· Develop and lead engaging lesson plans using Creative Curriculum
· Document observations using Teaching Strategies GOLD
· Support children's intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development
· Ensure children's safety and supervise daily routines
· Maintain a clean, organized classroom
· Communicate regularly with families
· Participate in professional development and ensure classroom compliance with licensing, VPI, and CACFP requirements
Qualifications
· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education preferred; at least a preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) required
· At least 2 years of preschool teaching experience
· Strong communication and technology skills
· CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
