About the Role
We are seeking Licensed Mental Health Professionals to provide Comprehensive Clinical Assessments (CCAs) for individuals seeking services.
This is a high-impact contract opportunity ideal for clinicians who want flexible work while directly improving access to care for high-need populations.
Assessments are typically conducted:

In-person at ACTT offices nearest the client
-
In community settings
-
Via telehealth (when clinically appropriate)
Candidates open to regional or statewide travel are highly preferred.
What You’ll Do

Conduct Comprehensive Clinical Assessments (CCAs) and diagnostic evaluations

Complete biopsychosocial assessments, mental status exams, and risk assessments
-
Gather clinical data through:
- Interviews
-
Record reviews
-
Collateral contacts
-
Screening tools
-
Evaluate:
- Presenting symptoms
-
Trauma and behavioral health history
-
Medical background and medications
-
Functional needs, risks, and strengths
-
Apply DSM-5 criteria to develop diagnostic impressions
-
Determine medical necessity and recommend appropriate levels of care
-
Ensure timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record

Collaborate with ACTT teams, referral partners, and clinical leadership
-
Participate in clinical consultation when needed
Required Qualifications
-
Master’s degree in:
- Counseling
-
Social Work
-
Psychology
-
Marriage & Family Therapy
-
or related field
-
Active, unrestricted North Carolina licensure (LCMHC, LCSW, LMFT, LCAS, etc.)

Experience with:
- Clinical assessments
-
Diagnostic evaluations
-
Behavioral health documentation
-
Strong understanding of:
- DSM-5
-
Risk assessment
-
Treatment planning
-
Excellent communication and engagement skills
-
Ability to maintain compliant, timely documentation

Comfort using EHR systems
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with NC Medicaid or managed care populations
-
Familiarity with ASAM criteria and substance use assessment

Experience with co-occurring disorders
