Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants/Homemakers to provide exceptional in-home and community-based care for individuals with diverse needs. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, health monitoring, and personal care in a respectful and professional manner. Ideal candidates will have a strong desire to improve quality of life for those they serve, with experience in senior care, disability support, or home health services. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans
- Support clients with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or memory care needs through specialized techniques and patience
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements and assist with meal planning and preparation
- Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment
- Use patient observation skills to monitor health status and report any concerns promptly
- Document care activities accurately while respecting HIPAA regulations
- Support clients in community settings or residential facilities, including assisted living or group homes
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement individualized care plans
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and social interaction
Experience
- Prior experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments preferred
- Knowledge of patient monitoring, vital signs, medication administration, and dementia or Alzheimer’s care is highly desirable
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special needs is a plus
- Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided if necessary
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and privacy of client information
- Previous roles involving heavy lifting or use of mobility aids like Hoyer lifts are beneficial
- Experience working with diverse populations including seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring hospice or palliative care is valued
