We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Day Shift Weekend Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) (Friday-Sunday) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide support and care for individuals with substance abuse and behavioral health needs. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, crisis management, and effective communication skills to ensure the well-being of our clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and assistance to individuals with addiction and mental health challenges.
- Implement behavior management strategies and crisis intervention techniques as needed.
- Monitor and document vital signs, medication self-administration, and overall patient health.
- Engage in therapeutic activities that promote social interaction and emotional well-being.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans.
- Support clients in managing mental health symptoms and addiction recovery processes.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment for individuals receiving care.
- Complete rounds to ensure safe day to day operations of the facilities
- Check-in with clients and notify other staff if they seem distressed and identify issue(s)
- Ensure cleanliness of facility and community spaces
- Perform safety checks on facility
- Complete shift notes and other necessary documentation
- Complete medication counts as needed
- Administer UDS if requested by staff or if there is suspicion of drug use
- Report any curfew/rule violations or unapproved visitors to clinical team
- Desired candidate must have CPR certification, know how to administer Narcan, be trained in de-escalation strategies, be comfortable taking temperatures and vitals.
Requirements
- Minimum one year experience working with individuals with mental health and substance abuse issues
- Knowledge of crisis management, behavior management, and applied behavior analysis techniques.
- Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital sign monitoring.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines, Joint Commission, and state standards.
- Must have valid Driver's License
