The Floor Caregiver Adult Day Care Center provides direct care, supervision, and support to clients in a safe, compassionate, and engaging environment. This role ensures that each client’s daily needs are met while promoting dignity, independence, and a positive experience throughout the day.
- Provide hands-on assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including toileting, hygiene support, mobility assistance, and meal support.
- Monitor clients continuously while on the floor to ensure safety and well-being.
- Assist with transfers, ambulation, and use of mobility devices.
- Escort clients to and from activities, restrooms, dining areas, and transportation vehicles.
- Help set up and supervise group activities such as fitness classes, games, arts and crafts, music, and educational sessions.
- Encourage client participation to support physical, cognitive, and social engagement.
- Maintain organized activity spaces and ensure needed materials are prepared and replenished.
- Build respectful, positive relationships with clients and their families.
- Report changes in client behavior, health status, or emotional needs to the Nurse, Intake Coordinator, or Center Manager.
- Participate in team meetings and care plan discussions when needed.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, emergency procedures, and infection control standards.
- Support clients following their individualized care plans and center protocols.
- Document and report incidents, injuries, or unusual behaviors immediately per policy.
- Work closely with nurses, drivers, intake coordinators, and other caregivers to ensure smooth operations across the floor.
- Assist staff members as needed to maintain a safe and supportive environment.
- Participate in required training, compliance courses, and ongoing professional development.
- Previous experience working with seniors or adults with disabilities.
- Ability to safely lift, assist, and transfer clients.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, compassion, and comfort working with a diverse client population.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-centered environment.
- CNA certification (or willingness to obtain).
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Bilingual skills (a plus based on Longmont’s client population).
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, lift, and perform physical caregiving tasks.
- Ability to assist with lifting/transferring up to 50 lbs (with support).
Full-time or part-time availability depending on Longmont center staffing needs. Occasional flexibility may be required for special events or client needs.
