Position Summary:
The Inside Sales & Showroom Coordinator has enthusiasm and passion for the Culp brand. The position will develop sales to hit targets, maintain an on-brand showroom experience for our customers, and engage with executive and sales leadership to support administrative needs.
Position Responsibilities:
Inside Sales:
- Maintain existing book of inside clients and actively prospect potential new clients.
- Work closely with clients to understand preferred trends, styles and color stories, and make appropriate recommendations from Culp’s line.
- Coordinate with customer service to serve each customer’s needs regarding lead times and shipping methods.
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of our brand and product to be able to communicate with customers effectively whether via email, phone, or in person at Congdon Yards.
- Ensure client expectations are met by ensuring accuracy related to ordering, shipment/tracking, and delivery of product.
- Work to achieve or exceed quarterly sales targets.
- Coordinate and submit customer special requests to the Design team.
- Support the company’s policies on returns and cancellations; ensure this policy is explained fully to each customer.
Showroom Coordination:
- Ensure the Congdon Yards design center is ready to greet visitors year-round, with special emphasis on industry events (Furniture Market, Interwoven, customer appointments).
- Two times per year, manage the installation of samples, furniture, plants and accessories in advance of Interwoven.
- Coordinate resources such as catering, moving, minor construction services, florists and other vendors during events. Plan menus and other entertainment as needed.
- Plan, assemble, and stock product displays in showrooms regarding product displays, promotional programs, and advertising.
- Schedule, update, and maintain showroom appointment calendar for Interwoven, Furniture Market and communicate with Design and Sales
- Provide year-round administrative oversight over the Congdon Yards design center.
- Be present for scheduled maintenance and repairs.
- Receive mail and packages as needed.
- Liaise with CHRO for general building safety.
Executive Administration:
- Provide executive-level administrative support for the Board, CEO, and Sales Leadership, including scheduling, travel arrangements and meeting preparations
- Assist with other sales related administrative needs as assigned.
Role Qualifications/Essential Skills & Experience:
- Previous furniture and/or textile knowledge preferred.
- Must be present in the office.
- Exceptional presentation skills and ability to articulate product knowledge to client.
- Must be results-driven with the ability to meet sales targets as given.
- Excellent communication skills through phone and emails.
- Ability to multitask.
- Strong sense of professionalism.
- Working knowledge of social media platforms and tools.
- Strong computer skills (Teams, PowerPoint or Canva, and Excel are critical).
- Exceptional at building and nurturing customer relationships.
- Enthusiasm and Passion for the Brand.
- Adaptable to different situations and audiences.
Education requirements:
- BA in General Business or Textiles preferred, or equivalent experience in progressive roles.
- 2+ years progressive sales and/or customer service experience preferred.
Travel Requirements:
- Some local customer travel is required. Furniture and Fabric Market attendance required.
