Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Hardscape Laborer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be instrumental in transforming outdoor spaces through the installation of durable and aesthetically pleasing hardscape features such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other exterior elements. Your energy and craftsmanship will contribute directly to creating beautiful, functional outdoor environments for our clients. Duties
- Assist in the preparation and layout of hardscape projects according to detailed construction plans and technical drawings
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely to install materials such as pavers, bricks, stone, concrete, and other building materials
- Prepare surfaces by grading, leveling, and compacting soil or base materials to ensure proper foundation for installations
- Collaborate with team members to execute tasks including trenching, drainage installation, and site cleanup
- Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure work environment during outdoor construction activities
- Support the installation of additional exterior features like lighting fixtures, fencing, and landscaping elements as needed
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to accurately execute project specifications
Skills
- Proven construction experience with a focus on outdoor work environments and hardscape projects
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation relevant to outdoor construction tasks
- Familiarity with building materials installation including paving stones, stucco, caulking, tile laying, and trim carpentry
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, construction plans, and blueprints effectively
- Knowledge of safety protocols adherence on active construction sites
- Experience with plumbing, electrical work, window installation or restoration is a plus but not required
- Strong teamwork skills combined with the ability to work independently in outdoor conditions
- Basic understanding of construction management principles such as estimating and inspection processes
