Liberal Public Schools is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and student-centered Social Worker to join our team. Social Worker provides direct and indirect therapeutic services while serving as a vital connection between students, families, schools, and community agencies. The successful candidate will collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral well-being while ensuring equitable access to educational opportunities and community services.

Collaborate with administrators, Parent Coordinators, teachers, counselors, and other staff to ensure students have access to a free and appropriate public education and the support services needed for success.

Identify home, school, and community factors that may impact a student's academic achievement, attendance, behavior, and overall well-being.

Provide direct and indirect therapeutic services to students and families through individual, group, and family interventions.

Apply professional social work knowledge and skills to support students' educational, social, emotional, and behavioral development.

Connect students and families with school and community resources that address barriers to learning and improve student outcomes.

Collaborate with families, educators, and community agencies to develop coordinated support plans that maximize student success.

Serve as a consultant and active member of Student Intervention Teams (SIT), MTSS teams, and other multidisciplinary teams.

Provide time-limited intervention services for students receiving general education supports.

Maintain accurate documentation, case records, and reports while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with all applicable laws and district policies.

Represent Liberal Public Schools on community organizations, district committees, and collaborative partnerships as assigned.

Participate in professional development, including specialized training such as Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), when assigned.

Support district initiatives that strengthen family engagement, student wellness, and equitable access to services.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or Superintendent.
Minimum Qualifications:

Current and valid Kansas Social Work license issued by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB).

Knowledge of child development, family systems, crisis intervention, trauma-informed practices, and community resources.

Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Commitment to supporting equitable educational opportunities and positive outcomes for all students.

Previous experience providing school-based social work services.

Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and community agencies.

Knowledge of MTSS, Student Intervention Teams (SIT), and special education processes.

Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse families.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Salary, benefits, and work calendar are established in accordance with the negotiated Professional Agreement and approved by the USD 480 Board of Education.
