Firm Overview
Our client is a leading private equity sponsor dedicated to long-term value creation within the Renewable Energy and Digital Infrastructure sectors. With a rapidly scaling portfolio spanning utility-scale renewable energy, energy storage, digital infrastructure (data centers), and grid modernization, they partner with top-tier management teams to deploy critical assets. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Capital Markets professional to join the investment team. This individual will oversee debt structuring, deal execution, and lender relationships across our expanding US and Canadian portfolios. You will join a lean, elite global team, reporting into the America’s Head of Capital markets.
The Role
This high-impact position places you at the intersection of principal investment execution and corporate finance. Working closely with our investment deal teams, portfolio operating partners, and external banking syndicates, you will take ownership of the financing lifecycle required to realize our investment thesis. You will act as a dedicated transaction execution expert. This means pulling together and navigating complex project finance models, giving structural guidance on key terms, and interfacing directly with banks, institutional lenders, and legal counsel to negotiate term sheets and long-form transaction documents.
Key Responsibilities
-
Financing Strategy & Execution: Lead and coordinate financing RFPs, market outreach, and competitive bank selection processes. Oversee the structuring, negotiation, and closing of debt financing for new acquisitions, platform expansions, and portfolio recapitalizations (including senior project debt, mezzanine, and unitranche facilities).
-
Project Finance & Modeling: Work directly with the investment team to build, stress-test, and run project finance models. Provide clear guidance on optimal pricing, sizing, and key commercial terms.
-
Documentation & Negotiation: Interface directly with key counterparties—including banks, lawyers, independent consultants, and internal stakeholders—to draft and negotiate term sheets, mandate letters, and definitive long-form documentation (credit agreements, intercreditor agreements).
-
Portfolio Debt & Hedging Management: Monitor ongoing compliance, manage interest rate/commodity hedging strategies, and oversee reporting requirements across the existing asset portfolio.
-
Investment Diligence Support: Partner with investment deal teams during the early due diligence phase to assess third-party term sheets, model debt capacity, and optimize the overall capital structure of prospective targets.
Additional Skills
-
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or CFA designation is highly regarded.
-
Technical Depth: Advanced proficiency in project finance modeling, credit analysis, and risk assessment. Deep understanding of legal documentation. Leveraged finance experience is a plus.
-
Soft Skills: Ability to act as a seamless bridge between technical asset developers and financial stakeholders. Must be highly comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial, fast-moving environment where processes are actively being built out in real-time.
What We Offer
-
Principal Perspective: Transition from a pure advisory or lending role to a principal investor, where you will directly influence capital allocation, asset growth, and long-term value creation.
