We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Pharmacy Manager/Pharmacist in Charge to lead our pharmacy operations with enthusiasm and precision. Duties
- Lead and manage all pharmacy operations, including inventory control, medication dispensing, and workflow optimization
- Ensure adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws, HIPAA confidentiality policies, USP 797 standards for sterile compounding, and other regulatory requirements
- Oversee patient assessments, medication therapy management, immunizations, and clinical interventions across various settings such as community pharmacies, LTC (Long-Term Care), or hospital environments
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and support personnel; provide training on pharmacy software systems (PIS), EMR/EHR systems, aseptic techniques, and drug regulation compliance
- Conduct patient communication to explain medication instructions, assess patient needs, and promote health education initiatives
- Maintain accurate documentation of medical management activities while ensuring clinical confidentiality at all times
- Manage inventory levels efficiently, including IV infusion supplies and medications requiring aseptic technique or compounding per USP 797 guidelines
- Coordinate with healthcare providers for medication administration plans, pain management protocols, and acute care interventions
Qualifications
- Valid pharmacist license with current practicing credentials in the relevant jurisdiction
- Extensive experience in clinical pharmacy practice including critical care, pediatrics, hospital settings or LTC pharmacies
- Proven leadership skills managing pharmacy teams effectively in fast-paced environments
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology principles, and medical terminology
- Hands-on experience with pharmacy information systems (PIS), EMR/EHR systems, and inventory management software
- Demonstrated expertise in drug regulation compliance and pharmaceutical regulatory standards such as USP 797
- Certifications in basic life support (BLS), immunizations administration, and healthcare compliance preferred
- Ability to perform patient assessments accurately while maintaining high standards of clinical confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Experience with sterile compounding techniques including IV insertion/infusion and aseptic procedures is highly desirable
- Excellent client communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence in community or hospital settings
