About the Role:
As a Fire Fighter II, you will receive intermediate-level airfield firefighting/crash rescue training and experience under general supervision. Your responsibilities will include mastering the use and maintenance of specialized firefighting and crash/rescue equipment, delivering fire prevention services, and executing firefighting and crash/rescue procedures and practices.
This position has the possibility of being hired as a Fire Fighter III
Responsibilities:

Performs firefighting, rescue and hazardous materials response services.

Responds and administers first-aid treatment to anyone in need.

Actively participate in national, state and local reoccurring training requirements.

General Fire Station cleaning and equipment/tool inspection and maintenance.

Other duties assigned.
Qualifications
To be eligible for this role, you must meet or exceed the following criteria:
-
Be at least 18 years old.
-
Be United States Citizen.
-
Qualify to obtain an SLCIAP Aircraft Movement Area Badge.

Pass NFPA 1582 medical evaluation.
-
Qualify for a "Favorable" federal background investigation.

Complete Firefighter skills attributes.
In addition, the incumbent must:
-
Possess DoD Certification or ProBoard/IFSAC equivalent; Fire Fighter II, HAZMAT Operations.

Possess or be able to obtain State of Utah EMT Certification or NREMT equivalent, DoD Certification or ProBoard/IFSAC Airport Fire Fighter, Telecommunicator I, HAZMAT technician all within 1 year of hire.

Obtain an appropriate U.S. Government Driver License within 1 year of hire.
Supplemental Information:

First aid certification required including CPR.

Risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental stress situations, e.g. working at great heights, working in extreme outdoor weather conditions, being subject to possible physical attack, etc.

The work requires considerable and strenuous physical exertion such as frequent climbing, lifting heavy objects over 50 pounds, crouching or crawling in restricted areas, defending oneself and/or others against physical attack.
